French brand Facteur has been creating products using recycled material made by women in rural African communities for more than a decade. Made from recycled carrier bags, the crocheting technique used to make this basket produces great-looking, durable storage. This pretty design was created from around 100 carrier bags.

How elegant is this retro-style vase? Classic shape and warm shades in colours that never go out of fashion. This looks wonderful filled with blooms and foliage, but works just as well on its own as a decorative piece. The stylist’s tip for console tables or shelves is to group items in threes, so pair with a couple of toning items for maximum impact when empty.
