Body Copy: There’s a wealth of independent schools across the country, each having their own unique approach to their admissions process. Your starting point might be a phone call or email to the admissions team, attending an open event, or booking an individual visit. Whilst each has its benefits, there’s much to be said for individual visits – Loretto School shares exactly what these are. Read on to discover more.
Personalised approach
Finding the school that’s the right fit for your child is incredibly important. Loretto is committed to knowing and nurturing every child – and this begins at the start of their Loretto journey.
Tours are arranged with your child’s interests and aspirations in mind, with pupil tour guides being selected based on shared passions and personalities. Experience their beautiful campus and exceptional facilities through the lens of a current pupil – ensuring you and your family get the most from your visit.

Convenience
Despite schools hosting open events regularly throughout the year, these dates might not align with your schedule. Arranging an individual visit means that you can visit the school when it’s convenient for you.
At Loretto, individual visits are welcome year-round, with their friendly Admissions Team striving to accommodate requests. Individual visits can be booked from Monday to Friday, whilst their open events tend to fall on a Friday or Saturday, depending on which stage of entry you are considering.
Authentic experience
By arranging a visit during term-time, you can gain a glimpse into day-to-day life at school. This is a fantastic opportunity to see pupils in action, how they interact with staff and each other, and to experience the environment on a regular day.
Often, the atmosphere of a place cannot be put into words, and this is certainly the case at Loretto. The warm and vibrant energy that permeates the campus is best experienced in person – this is often something that visitors first comment on when they arrive at the school.

Dedicated time
Whilst Loretto’s open days are still focused on each individual child and their interests, private visits guarantee time with key members of staff, such as Senior Leaders and Heads of Departments.
Whether you’re visiting the Junior or Senior School, private visits to Loretto last approximately two hours. This is dedicated time for you to spend with pupils and staff on a one-on-one basis, to ask any questions that you may have, and to gain a deeper understanding of the school.
For some families, a private visit may follow attendance at an open event. For others, an individual visit may be more appealing in the first instance. There’s no limit to how many times you can visit Loretto – what’s most important is that you feel comfortable and confident in the choice that you make.
However you choose to begin your Loretto journey, the Admissions Team would be delighted to assist. Find out more by clicking here, or by contacting the team directly on 0131 653 4455 or at admissions@loretto.com.
